WASHINGTON—The Congressional Progressive Caucus (CPC) will hold an emergency meeting tomorrow morning, Wednesday, March 21st, to setits budget priorities in the aftermath of the Republican budget proposal released today.

This year’s Republican budget compounds last year’s mistakes: reckless cuts that slash millions of jobs, an end to the Medicare guarantee, and higher health costs for America’s seniors. The GOP scheme gives more tax breaks to billionaires, Big Oil, and corporations that ship American jobs overseas.

The CPC meeting will feature a discussion on how to respond to the disastrous Republican scheme. Last year, the CPC released the acclaimed People’s Budget, which was praised by notable leadersincluding former President Bill Clinton, economists Paul Krugman and Jeffrey Sachs, and respected publications such as The Economist

A readout of the CPC’s meeting will take place at 11:30 a.m.
